Ongeveer een jaar na 10 Years of Mo’ Juice, wordt Club Wintercircus opnieuw omgetoverd tot een ware disco dungeon. Maak je klaar voor onstuimige nacht met het Horse Meat Disco-collectief als centrale gasten. Horse Meat Disco (U.K.), gestart in een Londense gaybar, is nu wereldwijd een fenomeen. Met een mix van classic disco en house, zorgen ze voor een uitbundige sfeer die iedereen omarmt — van drag queens tot club kids. Horse Meat Disco Horse Meat Disco (HMD) werd in 2004 opgericht door James Hillard en Jim Stanton in de Londense gaybar The Eagle. Kort nadien bundelden ze de krachten met DJ’s Severino en Luke Howard. Het vierkoppige HMD is uitgegroeid tot een drijvende kracht in de queer- en clubcultuur, terwijl ze 100% trouw blijven aan hun roots. Hoewel het aantal wereldwijde residenties en festival gigs explodeerde, organiseren ze nog steeds hun wekelijkse feest op de oorspronkelijke locatie. Een typische HMD-set mengt o.a. classic disco, house, italo disco, punk funk en obscure pareltjes. Zo creëren ze de sfeer van “een queer party waar iedereen zich welkom voelt”: gays, hetero’s, club kids, bears, fashionistas, naturisten, drag queens, you name it. Hun onmiskenbare stijl, badend in hedonisme en counter-culture, leverde hun internationale faam, waardoor ze regelmatig te gast zijn op festivals als Glastonbury en Love International. Een reeks van vier alom geprezen, tijdloze compilaties op het reissue label Strut, versterkte hun reputatie als ware meesters van het disco genre. “Love And Dancing” uit 2020, was hun eerste volledige studioalbum. De plaat wil aantonen dat disco een toekomst heeft die in elk opzicht gelijk is aan zijn roemrijke verleden. Na decennia van crate diggen, globetrotten en feesten, gaat het verhaal van Horse Meat Disco onverminderd door!
